Anal fissures is not familiar to everyone, however, to those who have experienced the condition, most of them would recount the feeling of severe pain in the anal area. This is mainly associated with bleeding and tearing of the thin layer of tissue known as the mucosa.
This certain kind of pain can continue even after a bowel movement. Anal fissure affects men and women of any age, but mostly higher in infancy. However, the risk increases with childbirth, aging, Crohn’s disease, and constipation.

There are basically four major steps to take.
1. Fiber-rich diet
It is advisable to add high fiber food such as fruits and vegetables so that stools will become softer. These kind of die also improve fissure healing. However, at times because of fiber, it can cause gas and bloating. With this effect, it should be added in the diet gradually.
2. Fluid intake
If possible, follow the required amount of water intake daily. This is six to eight glasses of water to prevent constipation. Remember alcoholic intake should also be lessen because these kind of fluid is dehydrating.
3. Regular exercise
At least 30 minutes of physical activity like walking can promote regular bowel movement. This can also help in a faster healing of the affected anal tissue.
4. Avoid strain
Straining during bowel movements is one of the causes of anal fissure. It is best not to strain because this can open a healed rear again or may cause a new tear.
