Known as one of the most expensive spices of the world, cardamom or cardamon is from both Elettaria and Amomum genera in the Zingiberaceae family. Elettaria cardamomum is one of the two main kinds of cardamom. It is also called as green cardamom as well as true cardamom. When it is bleached, it is called white cardamom. This type of cardamom is mainly distributed to Malaysia from India.
It is the seeds of the plants that are made into spice. It is used as a masticatory or the increase of the production of saliva from chewing.
